WEU Communications Intern

Location: Reading, United Kingdom

Duration: 12-Month Industrial Placement

Contract Type: Student Internship

Grade: Intern

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Create engaging internal communications that keep employees informed, connected, and inspired.

Source and develop stories from across the Western Europe region for publication on internal channels, including newsletters and the intranet.

Support the creation and delivery of content across internal communication platforms.

Assist in planning and coordinating quarterly employee meetings and other engagement events.

Support external communications activities, including drafting materials and helping to share stories externally.

Work with external communications agencies to amplify Opella news, initiatives, and campaigns.

Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple countries, functions, and cultures to support communications projects.

About You

Key Requirements

Currently studying towards a degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related discipline.

Must remain in full-time education through September 2027.

Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.

Strong interest in communications, media, content creation, and employee engagement.

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders across different teams and countries.

Proactive, curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.

What Will Help You Stand Out

  • Experience writing for university publications, blogs, newsletters, or social media channels.
  • Interest in healthcare, consumer brands, or corporate communications.
  • Experience organising events, projects, or campaigns.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital communication tools.
