About the Role
Frieze is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to lead and grow our social media presence across our global fairs, editorial content, and brand channels. Sitting within the Marketing team, this role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging social content that connects audiences with Frieze's world-leading programme of art fairs, editorial coverage, partnerships, and cultural moments.
Working closely with Editorial, Studios, Branded Content, Design and Marketing teams, you'll play a key role in shaping social media strategy, driving audience engagement, and ensuring a consistent brand voice across all platforms. This is a highly collaborative role for someone who combines creativity with analytical thinking and has a passion for both social media and contemporary art.
This is a full-time role based in London.
What Success Looks Like
- Growth in audience engagement, reach and community interaction across key social media platforms, particularly Instagram.
- Delivery of a successful year-round social media programme promoting Frieze fairs, galleries, editorial content and brand initiatives.
- Consistent, high-quality social content that reflects Frieze's brand identity, editorial tone and content pillars.
- Strong cross-functional partnerships with Editorial, Marketing, Design, Studios and Commercial teams, helping ensure a coordinated approach to social media.
- Timely and insightful reporting on social performance, with recommendations that inform future content and campaign strategies.
- Effective management and development of the Social Media Assistant.
What You'll Own
- Write, edit, schedule and optimise day-to-day social media content across Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Stories, LinkedIn, X, TikTok and emerging channels.
- Develop and deliver a year-round social media strategy to promote galleries participating in Frieze art fairs globally.
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates and emerging opportunities, applying insights to continually evolve Frieze's social approach.
- Partner with Editorial, Studios, Branded Content and Marketing teams to deliver integrated social media campaigns and content strategies.
- Collaborate with the Design team to ensure visual consistency and excellence across all social channels.
- Produce weekly social media performance reports and analyse campaign effectiveness, cover launches, tentpole events and key brand moments.
- Advise internal stakeholders on best practices for social content, captioning, audience engagement, mentions and tone of voice.
- Develop ideas, write copy and provide creative direction and feedback for short-form social video content.
- Manage and support the Social Media Assistant, providing coaching, feedback and development opportunities.
What You Bring
- Proven experience managing and growing social media channels, with a strong track record of increasing engagement and audience growth.
- Deep understanding of major social platforms, particularly Instagram, and how audiences interact with content across channels.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the contemporary art world and cultural industries.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with strong attention to detail, grammar and editorial standards.
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign.
- Experience working with content management systems and digital publishing tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Passion for social media, digital culture, brands, creators and emerging trends.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of Frieze's brand identity, editorial voice and audience.
- Experience with social media scheduling, reporting and analytics tools.
- Knowledge of SEO principles is advantageous.
