We’re Ocado Retail, a market-leading joint venture between Ocado Group and M&S, and the world’s largest dedicated online supermarket, ocado.com. Not only is Ocado the only place to shop a full range of M&S food online, it’s also the home to the widest online supermarket range in the UK and champion of small, independent brands. About the team and the role
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will connect product innovation with customer value, ensuring our digital experiences are understood, adopted, and loved.
You’ll sit at the intersection of Product, CRO, Design, Data, CRM, Brand and Marketing - shaping how products are positioned, launched, adopted and optimised across the customer journey.
This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You love the big picture but are equally passionate about the details. Up front, you will think deeply about the foundational principles of a product: its unique value proposition, the customer problems to solve, and how to position it flawlessly in the market. From there, you will strategically map out how best to leverage marketing channels and creative storytelling to connect with our audience, before rolling up your sleeves to execute and deliver those multi-channel campaigns to an absolute, perfect standard.
The ideal candidate blends deep customer empathy, commercial thinking, storytelling excellence and strong product understanding, with the ability to thrive in fast-moving, cross-functional environments.
What you’ll do
Product Positioning
Translate complex product capabilities into simple, compelling customer value propositions.
Develop clear, differentiated positioning and messaging for products, propositions and experiences.
Define target audience segments, needs, and pain points, setting clear upfront strategic principles.
Shape how products are communicated across digital experiences, CRM, media, app stores and onsite surfaces.
Go To Market Strategy & Execution
Lead end to end go-to-market planning for new and existing product capabilities.
Build launch strategies spanning awareness, acquisition, and engagement, strategically mapping the channel mix and creative output.
Take hands-on ownership of delivery, collaborating across teams to execute multi-channel campaigns seamlessly and ensuring every asset meets a perfect standard.
Partner with Product Managers to influence roadmap priorities through customer insight and market understanding.
Customer Insight & Market Intelligence
Develop a deep understanding of customer behaviours, competitor activity and market trends.
Use quantitative and qualitative insight to identify opportunities for growth and optimisation.
Bring external best practice and emerging technology trends into product and commercial conversations.
Driving Performance
Grow product awareness, adoption, engagement and repeat usage.
Define success metrics and measure product marketing impact through experimentation and analysis.
Identify friction points across the customer journey and influence improvements.
Cross Functional Leadership
Work closely with Product, Design, CRO, Data, CRM, Brand and Marketing teams.
Align stakeholders around customer value, strategic priorities and launch plans.
Influence senior leadership with clear storytelling, insight and commercial rationale.
Help establish scalable product marketing ways of working, frameworks and rituals.
