Dove is Unilever’s largest brand, valued at €6.8 billion Turnover, and is central to our Personal Care and Beauty & Wellbeing businesses. Over the past decade, Dove has grown consistently, driven by its strong purpose and commitment to superior care. As a trailblazer in the beauty industry, Dove has led the shift from toxic beauty ideals to a more inclusive form of beauty. Dove Personal Care is a €5.4 billion business, with sales evenly split between North America and other regions. We hold leading positions in Skin Cleansing and Deodorants. Dove Skin Cleansing, a €3.3 billion business, is the world’s #1 in Bar and Body Wash, growing at 8% CAGR. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Brand Manager to lead Core platforms for Dove Skin Cleansing across global markets (excluding North America, India & China), representing a significant €843m business. We have ambitious growth plans to expand our market share and penetration while future fitting the brand, and an ambition to Double Dove in Asia.


Job Purpose:


The selected candidate will lead the Core Skin Cleansing platform for Dove International including bodywash, bars and other growing formats such as scrubs and mousses. Dove historical growth has lied on its Core platform and this role will continue to drive liquids acceleration in emerging markets while strengthening our position in mature markets, driving desire at scale and making Dove a ‘SASSY’ brand.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the core skin cleansing platform (bodywash, bars, scrubs, mousses/self-foamers), stewarding the long-term vision for this platform and developing a destination portfolio and long-term innovation roadmap to deliver it

  • Drive the growth of Dove skin cleansing through bespoke innovation and communication

  • Develop world-class consumer understanding and category insights to fuel breakthrough innovation ideas and communication campaigns

  • Develop delightful and highly desirable mixes able to transform Dove into a SASSY brand

  • Transform communication model from TV and Digital led to unmissable social-first communications

  • Boost engagement plans with a “community first” mindset, able to embed the brand into culture and create fame/ build brand love aligning to Dove Star Stories

  • Effectively lead and collaborate with a diverse cross-functional team (CMI, R&D, Finance, SC) to ensure the OTIF delivery of projects

  • Effectively manage a network of agencies and partners to unlock creativity and efficiency to land projects with speed and with success

  • Work closely with business leaders across LATAM, PC6, Greater China, Greater Asia and PTAB Business Units to help identify, evaluate and execute projects


All about you:


Candidates will need a keen understanding of the consumer across relevant markets as well as PC/Beauty market dynamics, along with an intuition and passion for crafting and innovation. They will need leadership skills that allow them to create an environment of collaboration and partnership. In addition, they will require the following skills, competencies & qualities:

  • Excellent brand development skills (i.e. brand positioning/equity, concept and mix development, project leadership) and solid experience leading complex innovation / engagement plans across multiple regions. Asia experience preferred.

  • Consumer love. The ability to immerse themselves in the lives of our consumers and shoppers, understanding their pain points, needs, and desires, what delights them to craft the most relevant innovations and comms.

  • A passionate crafter, that doesn’t compromise in the delivery of superior, delightful mixes even in high pressure circumstances; able to mobilize teams to deliver to this vision. An eye for beauty, with a passion for using science and design to evoke desire.

  • A healthy obsession with pleasing consumers and a fascination for the products we sell – the formulations, science, fragrance, sensorials, look and feel. You understand how our products compare to competitors and are committed to unmissable superiority.

  • Highly intuitive with strong storytelling ability; you are able to spot issues & opportunities and know how to frame messages in a simple and compelling way.

  • Strong digital/social & consumer engagement awareness are key to this role as part of crafting the step-change in communication

  • Strong Project Management skills. Experience in leading cross-functional teams to deliver projects and in managing stakeholders independently.

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of P&L management

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and bias for action – an independent, self-starter who does not take things for granted and challenges the status quo when it gets in the way, applying critical thinking and creativity to problem-solving

  • Passion for growth and high performance: putting great care and rigor into what we do, being accountable for, and taking pride in our work.
