About the Role

Initiative is seeking a Global Strategy Group Director to lead strategic media thinking across Bayer Consumer Health’s portfolio of iconic “Megabrands” (e.g. Aspirin, Berocca, Canesten, Rennie).

This is a high-impact role for a senior media strategist who can operate upstream with global clients to shape communications and investment strategies grounded in audience insight, effectiveness, and business outcomes. Working as part of a broader integrated team across media, creative, analytics, and production, you will help define how Bayer’s consumer health brands connect with the modern day healthcare consumer in a rapidly evolving landscape.

The role is ideal for someone with deep communications planning and media strategy expertise who is highly collaborative and comfortable contributing within integrated strategic environments.

What You’ll Do

Partner with the Global Head of Strategy to develop communications and media strategies across Bayer’s global Megabrands, ensuring alignment between brand objectives, audience insight, and channel planning.

Work closely with analytics, audience and media planning teams to define evidence-led investment strategies across paid, owned, earned, and shared channels.

Develop audience-first media and communications frameworks that support sustainable brand growth across markets.

Craft global media strategies that translate business and brand ambition into actionable recommendations for local teams, balancing short-term performance with long-term brand building.

Collaborate with creative, shopper, HCP and production teams as part of integrated planning processes, ensuring strategic cohesion across disciplines.

Contribute media expertise within cross-functional workshops and strategic planning sessions.

Present strategic recommendations confidently to senior global marketing and brand leadership.

Help drive innovation in communications planning by connecting audience insight, channel strategy, data, and effectiveness principles.

Embed AI into the strategic planning process, from developing and deploying AI agents to building agentic workflows, and empower teams to use AI in more strategic, higher-value ways.

About You

You are a senior media and communications strategist with strong analytical and planning expertise, and a collaborative approach to integrated marketing.

You have a proven track record developing media and communications strategies for global or regional clients.

You bring deep expertise in communications planning, channel strategy, audience understanding, and marketing effectiveness.

You are experienced working within integrated teams alongside creative, analytics, and client stakeholders.

You can translate data, research, and performance insights into clear strategic direction and investment recommendations.

You are AI-literate, with the ability to utilise AI agents and tools to accelerate data-driven analysis and strengthen integrated strategic thinking.

You are comfortable leading senior client conversations and navigating complex stakeholder environments with confidence and diplomacy.

You thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments and enjoy working cross-functionally to solve business challenges.

You have extensive experience in media strategy, communications planning, or integrated planning roles, ideally within a global agency environment.
