Your purpose will be:
Working in close partnership with the Commercial Director, the Director of Marketing is responsible for defining and executing The Savoy's brand, marketing and communications strategy in alignment with the hotel's commercial objectives. This role acts as the custodian of The Savoy brand, ensuring a clear and differentiated market position, consistency across all customer touchpoints, and excellence in execution.
The Director of Marketing leads the marketing function, overseeing the marketing team, brand, communications, digital marketing, performance marketing, partnerships and reputation management. The role is responsible for translating commercial priorities into impactful marketing strategies that drive revenue across Rooms, Food & Beverage and Experiences, strengthen brand desirability, enhance market presence and support long-term business growth.
As a leader within the business, the Director of Marketing will identify emerging consumer, luxury and travel trends, proactively develop opportunities that reinforce The Savoy's leadership position, and continuously raise the standard of marketing execution through strong team leadership, agency management and cross-functional collaboration.
You will be accountable for:
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the Commercial Director and operational leaders to develop marketing strategies that drive performance across all business pillars, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Events and Experiences.
- Anticipate market trends and identify opportunities that strengthen brand positioning and business performance.
- Drive excellence, innovation and continuous improvement across the marketing function.
- Lead annual planning, budgets, priorities and performance measurement.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead, inspire and develop the in-house marketing team, creating a culture of excellence, accountability and innovation.
- Alongside the Commercial Director, establish clear performance expectations and development plans for all team members.
- Coach and mentor the team to strengthen strategic thinking, commercial acumen and decision-making.
- Build succession and long-term capability within the marketing function.
Digital Marketing & Performance
- Lead the hotel's digital marketing strategy across paid, owned and earned channels.
- Develop integrated campaigns and performance marketing initiatives that drive awareness, demand and revenue across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Events and other key revenue streams.
- Oversee performance marketing initiatives, ensuring investment delivers measurable business outcomes.
- Direct paid media, social media, search, content amplification and audience acquisition strategies.
- Lead influencer and KOL programmes that strengthen brand awareness, desirability and engagement.
- Partner with the digital team and agencies to optimise campaign performance, audience targeting and return on investment.
- Establish clear KPIs and reporting frameworks to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Communications & Reputation Management
- Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that enhance awareness, reputation and market positioning.
- Lead local, national and international media relations activities.
- Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the hotel when appropriate.
- Develop compelling stories and newsworthy opportunities in collaboration with operational and commercial teams.
- Ensure alignment with Fairmont and Accor corporate communications strategies.
Strategic Partnerships & Market Influence
- Develop and maintain relationships with luxury brands, cultural institutions, tourism bodies and key industry stakeholders.
- Create brand partnerships, experiences and collaborations that enhance The Savoy's positioning and drive commercial performance, with particular focus on Food & Beverage, culture, luxury and lifestyle audiences.
- Position The Savoy at the centre of relevant luxury, cultural and lifestyle conversations.
- Create innovative collaborations that generate awareness, engagement and revenue opportunities.
Content & Marketing Communications
- Oversee the development of all marketing content and brand assets.
- Ensure excellence across photography, videography, digital content, website experience and printed collateral.
- Drive storytelling that reinforces The Savoy's positioning and heritage while remaining relevant to contemporary audiences.
Agency Leadership
- Lead and challenge external agencies to deliver best-in-class work.
- Establish clear objectives, KPIs and accountability measures for agency partners.
- Ensure all agency activity aligns with business objectives and brand standards.
- Continuously evaluate agency effectiveness and resource allocation.
Community Impact & Corporate Reputation
- Develop initiatives that strengthen The Savoy's reputation as a responsible business, employer and contributor to the wider community
- Lead sustainability, social impact and community engagement communications
- Lead communications responses during reputational or operational incidents, in line with communication plans and protocols.
