The Role
The Business Director is a strategic and commercially astute leader who drives client success into every facet of their work. Reporting to a Client Lead, you will oversee the seamless execution of integrated campaigns, leveraging our DIPPAM workflow (Discover, Ideate, Plan, Produce, Activate, and Measure) built on WPP's Open platform.
You will act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, optimising operations, forging deep client partnerships, and ensuring our AI-native capabilities are utilised to unlock unprecedented value. This role demands a forward-thinking leader who can champion creative excellence, galvanise multidisciplinary teams, and ensure maximum commercial efficiency. This is a 6 month FTC to end of Jan 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate strong, senior client relationships, acting as a trusted strategic advisor and partner in all things.
- Oversee all projects within your portfolio, serving as the go-to person for team members needing support and ensuring the smooth adoption of DIPPAM workflows.
- Act as a senior ambassador for the agency, clearly communicating the strategic value of our work and our integrated approach.
- Ensure the optimal allocation of agency resources for each brief, utilising our platforms to manage workflows effectively.
- Galvanise and align multidisciplinary POD teams towards a common goal, integrating augmented agentic teams where appropriate to maximise productivity.
- Anticipate creative challenges and think outside the box to provide innovative, workable solutions.
- Take the lead on strategy and ideas development in partnership with Planning and Creative.
- Use your influence with clients to push for the best work possible, ensuring it leverages the latest agency capabilities.
- Ensure all creative output perfectly aligns with the client’s brand and business objectives.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the wider context of the client’s business to facilitate high-level strategic conversations with senior stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for fee agreements, scopes of work, and overall account profitability.
- Plan proactively by understanding the client’s long-term objectives and ensuring the agency is fit to meet them.
- Create and support cross-agency collaboration, spotting opportunities to work better together.
- Continually innovate to ensure that the agency offering remains fit for the client's needs in an evolving landscape.
