UBT are proud to be working with a growing leading family ran SME business with an annual turnover of £9m. They have rapid growth plans and as such they are now looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager on a permanent basis to cover East Anglia and Ireland. The purpose of the role will aim for winning new business whilst striving to maintain good relationships with existing clients, gaining repeat business wherever possible. The company is a manufacturer and distributor of workspace accessories, equipment to trade businesses and project office fit out companies. This is an excellent opportunity for a hungry, humble individual who wants to add value with an uncapped commission structure alongside competitive salary and benefits. The ideal candidate would have worked as an Area Sales Manager covering the East Anglia territory, experience in dealing with dealers/trade and have a consultative sales approach to provide products/solutions.

Key duties and responsibilities....

  • Have an extensive knowledge of the company, its aims, objectives and its strategic direction
  • Maintain existing sales and achieve sales growth of company products through new business development initiatives
  • Demonstrate excellent technical/product knowledge of the company’s products
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers in person, via telephone calls and emails
  • Support existing customers by keeping regular contact with them, ensuring they are updated with developments, their needs are catered for and opportunities identified to maximise business with them
  • Increase business opportunities through various routes to market
  • Collect customer feedback and carry out dealer specific research and market research
  • Research the market and related products, gathering market and customer information
  • Keep up to date with products and competitors
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends, feed future buying trends back to Sales Team
  • Promote the company and its products on Linked-In/ Twitter and keeping up to date with latest industry trends
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
  • Be prepared to make overnight stays to effectively manage the sales appointments
  • Review own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed departmental KPIs using company CRM
  • Maintain and monitor own "car stock" for customer and prospective customer demonstrations/requirements


  • Previous sales experience with the ability and desire to sell
  • Be target driven, organised and maintain a meticulous in-depth knowledge of products and services provided
  • Have the analytical skills to identify customer needs and propose solutions of benefit to the customer
  • Excellent customer service skills, being well-spoken and articulate with a professional telephone manner
  • Excellent communication skills, being highly computer literate with good knowledge of all Microsoft Office programmes
  • Excellent level of numeracy
  • A positive, confident and determined approach
