A large and highly successful Steel Stockholder requires an Account Manager to be based at their Dalton, Thirsk (YO7) offices.

The Role:

As an Account Manager, you’ll be selling steel tube and bar products to established companies large and small across the UK and Ireland. You’ll be following up on leads and enquiries to create and manage your own accounts. The ability to prioritise and organise your own workload is essential. You’ll be talking to customers on the telephone and arranging face-to-face meetings, so having a confident, pleasant, down-to-earth demeanour is essential. Working with guidance and support from our experienced team, you will be assisting your customers with technical and product advice to ensure a complete sale and ongoing business. You will be in close contact with our transport, despatch, accounts, and purchasing departments, so great communication skills and approachability are very important.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Answering incoming phone and email enquiries about stock, pricing, and availability and providing quotations
  • Liaising with other internal departments to check on the progress of existing orders and keeping customers up to date
  • Communicating frequently with existing and potential customers
  • Organising face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers
  • Developing and managing your own customers
  • Gathering market information and giving feedback to your Product Manager and colleagues
  • Maintaining good relationships with team colleagues and managers
  • Attending company training, if required
