Our client is looking for an ambitious candidate with a desire to work in the automotive sales industry to join their welcoming team at their franchised dealership in Hemel Hempstead..
On offer to the successful candidate is a unique opportunity to receive full training and support for a period of up to 6 months, during which time you will not have any sales targets and will therefore be able to genuinely learn about the industry and the company before graduating to fully fledged sales executive when you and our client agree you are ready. This is in sharp contrast to many junior car sales positions which tend to involve very little induction and can throw candidates in at the deep end very quickly. Our client recognises that the greatest chance of success for a new candidate to the industry (and therefore the greatest chance of success for their business also) is provided by full training and support from the beginning.
As this is an entry-level position, previous experience is not particularly important; our client is looking for a candidate with the desire to learn and progress in automotive sales, and with an enthusiasm for customer interaction. Previous customer contact experience, in any industry, would be an advantage, and a full UK driving licence is essential as the role will involve moving cars on site and conducting test drives with customers.
During the first 6 months as a junior sales executive, the salary will be £18000. Once the training has been completed, you will move to their Sales Executive package of £12000 basic + commission from sales, the outcome of which will mean you will earn substantially more than £18000 (it is a fact of the industry that you will earn most of your money from commission). You are therefore likely to earn circa £25000 total in your first year, but from year 2 onwards, you will be expected to earn well in excess of £30000 OTE per year. You will also receive a company car at the end of the 6 month training period.
