Job Description

Last Update: 9/15/23

Are you an experienced marketing professional and looking for that significant first step in to management?

We are supporting the Institute of Risk Management (IRM) to recruit a Marketing Manager to focus on Qualifications and their Training programmes.

This is a hybrid role with a need to be in the office at least 1-2 days per week, however from the new year, please note all IRM roles will become fully remote. Salary is up to £45k per annum.

As Marketing Manager, you won't have any line management responsibilities, although this could develop, once in post.

You will play a pivotal role in driving IRM's growth and influence by developing and executing strategic marketing plans. You will analyse market trends, identify new product opportunities, and implement international market strategies to increase income.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough market research to guide IRM's regional and sectoral operations.
  • Analyse customer data and behavior to create buyer personas and drive membership growth, qualification/training uptake, and product sales.
  • Identify sustainable opportunities for new qualifications, products, and services through trend assessment.
  • Perform competitive analysis to position IRM advantageously against competitors.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans to expand IRM's brand influence and increase sales.
  • Implement cost-effective marketing activities across various channels, including events, email, social media, and more.
  • Build partnerships with third parties to support IRM's growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with Chapters, Regional, and Special Interest Groups to drive marketing plans.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of marketing initiatives for continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous marketing experience, preferably as a marketing executive or senior executive.
  • Proven track record of delivering market growth.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles, ideally with a marketing qualification (e.g., CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing, MBA).
  • Commercial mindset with sound financial judgment.
  • Excellent problem analysis and critical reasoning abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.

We will be assessing applications on a rolling basis so please apply by sending in your CV today!
