Summary

Are you creative with a passion for marketing and communications? Can you tell stories that will demonstrate our impact and inspire people to get involved? We’re seeking a Communications & Marketing Officer to join our team at Charlecote Park.

This is an exciting role for someone looking to develop their career in communications and marketing and with a passion for nature, heritage, and communities. Your role will be busy and challenging but you'll be supported by a great team and the Trust’s wider regional marketing team. Charlecote is a busy property, and this role will suit someone who thrives in a changing and creative environment.

You'll be part of the Duty Management Team and at times to be operational. You'll be required to work weekends, bank holidays and the occasional evening.

Reporting to the Programming and Partnerships Manager, you’ll be part of a team of three who cover events, programming, volunteering and community.

The property has recently undergone a substantial amount of project work to help with visitor infrastructure and conservation work and it’s now time to maximise on these works. We are looking forward to showcasing our conservation work, rebuilding our offer, removing barriers to access and increasing access to the outdoors and nature.

What you'll be doing

As Communications and Marketing Officer, you’ll lead the delivery of the communications and marketing plan, raising awareness of and engaging people with the conservation work.

You’ll work alongside property colleagues to develop and share key messages through various communications channels for both internal and external audiences, helping to nurture an inclusive attitude through every part of our communications and actively seek ways to make the site more accessible for all. You'll have fresh ideas and a creative approach to share the stories of our properties and engage visitors in the work we do.

Responsible for delivering the Communications & Marketing plan, you'll be promoting events/on-site programming, commercial activities and general property themes, across a range of marketing platforms including social media and the property's website. You'll have fresh ideas and a creative approach to share the stories of our property though content for digital platforms as well as print mediums for interpretation and signage which inspires people to engage with us, to connect with our work and with nature, and to become advocates for the National Trust, through volunteering, membership, donations and legacies.

You'll be supporting our compliance work through identifying risks and contentious issues. You'll also look after our GDPR compliance and storage of photography, ensuring the property team remain complaint.

  • Experience of working in communications, marketing or media environment and experience running social media channels
  • Excellent copywriting and proof-reading skills, able to creating great content for different channels
  • Good team player and can work collaboratively to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Well organised and able to manage multiple projects and varying pressures to meet deadlines
  • Experience of working with and supervising volunteers
  • Risk management experience, understanding when to escalate and how to spot to potential issues
  • Proven skills in creating, and editing multi-channel content based on audience insight and evaluation
