Job Summary
A regulatory body is looking for a Senior Research officer to bring an established mixed methodology experience to the team. The aim of the role is to better understand and influence improvements in the quality and safety of health and social care and enhance their regulatory impact. Using knowledge of designing projects and their skills in delivering research, you will work with colleagues to solve organisational questions, enabling more informed decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Listening to questions from across the regulatory body and advise on appropriate research solutions and methodologies to answer the key objectives.
- Translating large or specialist data into a digestible report. Building thematic or narrative led reports to make insight both engaging and relevant for stakeholders.
- Sharing data using your verbal and written presenting skills to audiences who may vary in subject matter and/or ‘research' expertise
- Overseeing the delivery of multiple concurrent research projects. Scoping and commissioning projects, leading the project management through to debrief.
- Managing external relationships with agencies or organisations conducting or contributing to research projects.
- Engaging in knowledge sharing with research peers in health and social care – supporting our ambitions and growing the presence of the team.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience setting up and delivering primary research materials for qualitative and quantitative approaches – also incorporating secondary research as appropriate.
- Comfortable creating and using primary research materials for qualitative and quantitative approaches – with some familiarity using secondary desk-based research approaches where appropriate (e.g systematic reviews).
- An ability to analyse large datasets, translating them into engaging and relevant narrative led reports.
- Experience communicating project findings to a range of stakeholders - building relationships with both specialists and non-specialists in research.
- Familiarity manipulating and reading data tables from ad-hoc and tracker surveys. Synthesising large datasets to draw out the important information.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, being able to share reports on complex subjects in a way that stakeholders can easily identify key learnings.
