About the team
Part of a thriving Income Generation department, our Individual Giving team consists of three programmes - Direct Dialogue, Supporter Retention and Development and Support Acquisition. Together, we deliver a diverse programme of work with ambitious income targets that support our organisational strategy, across cash, regular giving and lottery products. We’ve grown quite a bit over the past few years and benefitted from both investment and opportunity for innovation. That’s resulted in us generating over £20m of unrestricted income every year. About the role
As a Direct Marketing Executive - Acquisition, you’ll play a pivotal role in Individual Giving’s ambitious programme by delivering outstanding supporter experiences and maximising income opportunities. That means working on key projects with significant income and expenditure budgets across cash, regular-giving, gaming and supporter journeys, using multi-channel communications that include digital, direct mail, Payroll Giving and telemarketing. It also means helping to deliver inspiring multichannel integrated campaigns to create accurate, consistent and engaging experiences for our supporters by utilising online and offline direct and digital marketing techniques. Along the way, you’ll get to work on a variety of new products and propositions too. Put simply, you’ll focus on giving supporters the best possible experience by introducing them to the opportunities at Shelter, while making sure our programme builds strong supporter relationships and long-term commitment to our cause.

About you

Used to working across a variety of channels that include direct mail, SMS, telemarketing and email, you also have a proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders and use data to interpret, analyse and convey results. What’s more, you know how to utilise insight, including the motivations, interests and behaviours of supporters or customers to guide decisions

and have a keen interest in, or willingness to learn about, product management and development. Experience of optimising and reviewing campaigns is important too, as is enthusiasm for keeping ahead of emerging trends and horizon scanning. Someone who’s not afraid to share both failures and successes, you’re comfortable working in matrix teams to achieve a shared objective. You’re also willing to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes when appropriate and adept at critiquing campaigns and materials to assess and improve.
