Field Business Development Manager Job in Poole

Dovetail Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well-established company who are looking for a new Field Business Development Manager to join their team, and to manage and develop a portfolio of accounts in Poole, Bournemouth, and the surrounding areas. This Business Development Manager position will be field based and operates within the food service industry, hence, the ideal candidate will have a passion for food and hold a high degree of self-motivation and ambition.

The successful Field Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing their own accounts within a designated territory covering Bournemouth, Poole and surrounding areas, selling, and promoting a broad range of food and catering related products to the foodservice industry. They will be heavily involved in up-selling within established clients along with a strong focus on developing new business.

  • Salary £DOE per annum plus commission.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, achieve and increase sales turnover and gross profit margins over same period of previous year.
  • Devise and deliver area business plan to maximise growth.
  • Cold call potential customers to prospect for new business, gain and develop new accounts.
  • Increase business within existing accounts.
  • Maximise selling opportunities by analysis of customer menus, profiles, and needs.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients, negotiate terms and close sales.
  • Complete in a timely manner all administration duties, weekly reports, journey plans, expense reports and sales plans required by the Commercial Sales Manager.
  • Contribute to collective team sales plans, company promotions and sales goals.
  • Liaise with credit department, minimise credit exposure and assist collecting outstanding debts where required.
  • Maintain competitor awareness.
  • Achieve set bonus targets.
  • Attend and network at sales training events, corporate days and trade shows.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • A Full, UK Driving licence is essential for this role.
  • Previous background of working in sales is essential.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Bournemouth, Poole, and surrounding areas.
  • Target driven with the ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent customer service, networking, and communication skills, Able to deal with difficult clients and customers with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Have a passion for food sales and knowledge of the catering industry is desirable.
