Position - Marketing and Communications Manager, New London Architecture (NLA)
Reports to - Head of Communications
Salary - £28-32k p/a
New London Architecture (NLA) is London's centre for excellence for the built environment.
Our purpose is to make London a better place for those who live, work and visit.
We do this through a busy year-round programme of research, events, festivals, exhibitions, publications, promoting debate and discussion about the future of cities.
Our fast-growing membership spans across public and private sectors, in London, UK and internationally, and we have two central London public exhibition galleries both with giant interactive models of central London, where anyone can come to learn about future-plans for the city.
NLA is looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager to provide a critical level of support to the Marketing and Communications team across a wide range of tasks in delivering the busy programme of online, print and social media resources. You will support marketing and communications for the NLA programme of events, exhibitions, research and reports, as well as Don't Move, Improve! (DMI), the New London Weekly newsletter (NLW) and NLQ magazine.
You will provide support to the Head of Communications and line manage a Marketing and Comms Coordinator. The role also requires you to work closely with multiple teams across the business planning and delivering marketing content for digital and printed elements; and communicating progress internally in a timely and concise way.
* Support the Head of Communications and lead and manage comms for the NLA programme, DMI, NLW and NLQ
* Oversee the press and PR strategy for the NLA programme and DMI, working with a Marketing & Comms Coordinator on press releases, distribution and list management
* Monitor and report on campaign performance across social media channels and accounts presenting to the Head of Communications on a monthly basis
* Ensure all content such as news, blog and social media channels are up to date, relevant and interesting using the brand's tone of voice
• Work closely with key stakeholders from across the business to support membership and campaign launches as well as events, publications and supplying support for plans/schedules for social activity
• Identify collaborations with industry influencers and relevant media partners where appropriate
• Follow and identify trends that are relevant to the built environment industry.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments from social media platforms and feed into campaign strategy
• Line manage and support development for a coordinator
What we are looking for
You will be a self-starter with an interest in the key issues influencing London's development and investment industries, as well as in London and its built environment more generally. You will have a proven track record in devising marketing strategies and evaluating results. You will share our team's core values by always being informed, rigorous, collaborative and responsive in everything you do.
Required Experience and Skills:
• An interest in the built environment / architecture / design
•Previous experience managing an individual or team
• Experience creating strong digital content and growing a social audience
• An editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it
• Experience strategising a marketing campaign and reporting analytics on a regular basis
• Ability to analyse and present content and social performance
• Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, and the top social channels
• Intermediate knowledge / experience using Mailchimp or similar mail platform
• Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
• Strong copywriting skills, proof reading and attention to detail.
• Strong visual & communication skills.
• Experience writing engaging content in long and short form.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience in paid ad campaigns
• An understanding of SEO best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace environment.

Holiday 25 days per year (including Christmas closure) plus bank holidays.
The normal working week is 40 hours, Monday to Friday.
