Senior Events Coordinator

Based in Edinburgh City Centre

£27,500 - £28,000 per annum

Reed Business Support are pleased to be working with a City Centre based client on a permanent Senior Events Coordinator role. Working in one of Edinburgh's most prestigious venues, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervise and coordinate commercial conferences, events, and meetings. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a unique employer in a fast-paced, interesting events position.

  • 35 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
  • Start date ASAP
  • Hybrid working

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervising the delivery of commercial conferences and meetings
  • Supporting the junior Event Coordinator in day to day activities
  • Working closely with the Events Manager to improve event packages, processes, and value offerings
  • Conducting competitor analysis to stay on top of market trends
  • Working closely with the Marketing Team to develop marketing and social media content for the venue and events
  • Acting as a point of contact for internal and external event clients, providing an efficient service to maintain relationships
  • Preparing and issuing quotations to clients and following up to confirm interest
  • Conducting site visits to showcase the unique facilities on offer
  • Maintaining internal software with details related to events
  • Keeping in regular contact with clients to be aware of any changes or final arrangements before planned events
  • Understanding client needs and working with AV Technicians and other staff members to meet requirements
  • Liaising with external agencies such as caterers
  • Ensuring that invoices are sent promptly to clients
  • Any ad hoc events duties

Person Specifications:

  • Previous experience working with an Event Management / Event Coordination role (2 years+ would be preferred)
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • First-class communication skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Ability to manage potentially conflicting priorities and multi-task
  • Excellent IT skills - particularly events management software like Opera or Rendezvous and Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work autonomously

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in corporate events
  • Experience and understanding of AV
