Newport, Gwent (with Hybrid working)

About Us

We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. We focus on publicly funded qualifications, including GCSEs, A-Levels and vocational qualifications.

We’re currently looking for a Communications Officer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. Requests for alternative working patterns, including part-time, job-share or secondments may be discussed at interview.

The Role

As a Communications Officer, you will manage our internal and external communications.

From social media to newsletters and digital content, you will express our voice and core messaging to build awareness of our brand identity and encourage audience engagement.

You will create and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring media and public feedback and measuring the impact of our campaigns.

About You

To be considered as a Communications Officer, you will need:

- Experience of writing clear copy for social media and websites
- Experience of working within a Communications team OR a role involving responsibility for communications
- An understanding of the techniques and software used to create engaging content
- The ability to manage a range of complex activities in a timely manner
- Excellent levels of oral, reading and writing communications skills in English and Cymraeg

Content creation experience with a public body would be desirable as would a qualification and/or experience in communications, engagement, marketing or journalism.

Experience of using of content management systems and creative design tools such as Canva, project management and use of Microsoft Office tools would also be beneficial.

Er mwyn cael eich ystyried yn Swyddog Cyfathrebu, bydd angen:

- profiad o ysgrifennu copi clir ar gyfer y cyfryngau cymdeithasol a gwefannau
- profiad o weithio o fewn tîm Cyfathrebu NEU rôl sy'n cynnwys cyfrifoldeb dros weithgareddau cyfathrebu
- dealltwriaeth o'r technegau a'r meddalwedd a ddefnyddir i greu cynnwys atyniadol
- y gallu i reoli ystod o weithgareddau cymhleth mewn modd amserol
- lefelau ardderchog o sgiliau cyfathrebu llafar, darllen ac ysgrifennu yn Saesneg a Chymraeg

Byddai profiad o greu cynnwys gyda chorff cyhoeddus yn ddymunol yn ogystal â chymhwyster a/neu brofiad mewn cyfathrebu, ymgysylltu, marchnata neu newyddiaduraeth.

Byddai profiad o ddefnyddio systemau rheoli cynnwys ac offer dylunio creadigol fel Canva, rheoli prosiectau a defnyddio offer Microsoft Office hefyd yn fuddiol.
