Marketing and Communications Manager
Location:
Home based/remote working
Hours:
Full time
Contract:
Permanent
Salary:
£35,000 to £38,000 per annum

The Organisation

All young people deserve a productive, fulfilling future. Society needs the spark and energy of young people to make it tick, yet somehow thousands of young people feel blocked by the complex, sometimes disheartening challenges the modern world throws at them.

Youth work is the best methodology to unlock young people’s potential by providing high quality support and opportunities. Skilled youth workers build relationships that support young people to explore their personal, social, and educational development. Youth work enables young people to develop their voice, influence, and place within society.

As the national body for youth work, they have a dual function. They are the professional, statutory, and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. In line with their charity mission and aims, they also champion youth work through research, advocacy, campaigns, and programmes.

About the Role

The Marketing and Communications Manager will work closely with the Head of Communications, the wider comms team, and key internal and external stakeholders to promote and elevate the NatWest Thrive programme to relevant audiences and to further the organisation's mission.

NatWest Thrive with Marcus Rashford is a youth development programme designed by youth work specialists in collaboration with NatWest, Marcus Rashford and young people to be both engaging and relevant. The programme aims to help young people (aged 8-24) build confidence, pursue their goals, and establish good financial habits.

This role will develop and implement effective marketing and communication strategies to effectively communicate the programme's goals and benefits to stakeholders, raising awareness of, and driving participation in, the programme. It will also support wider marketing and communications activity to drive engagement, awareness and support for the organisation's work and quality youth work more broadly.

It is an exciting time to be joining the organisation as they grow the communications team as part of the newly formed Policy and Communications Directorate. You will play a vital role helping to champion great youth work and its value and importance for young people across England.

You will:

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote NatWest Thrive and other activities and resources as directed by the Head of Communications
  • Provide support to the NatWest Thrive programme manager and operations team to source a variety of case studies which demonstrate the impact of the programme and build the brand of the charity
  • Incorporate key messages about the charity's work and take an integrated communications approach across digital and social media working closely with the Digital Marketing and Content Manager
  • Support the engagement of key audiences, raising the profile of the organisation and the importance of youth work through internal and external comms, including the creation of presentation materials and briefings for charity spokespeople attending events
  • Identify and plan new activity to motivate current audiences and expand reach across the organisation's channels and platforms - social media, newsletters, website
  • Maintain the website with up-to-date news, case studies and appropriate calls to action
  • Write strong, compelling and authentic copy for a range of channels that engages a range of audiences
  • Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, advise and lead on the creation of engaging content, including videos and graphics, working with designers, where appropriate
  • Plan and oversee the production and delivery of marketing collateral to engage different audiences
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Co-ordinator to monitor engagement and performance and identify recommendations and improvement
  • Support joint media relations activity around NatWest Thrive including providing quotes and case studies for press releases and helping to respond to any media enquiries about the programme

Closing Date: by 5pm on Sunday 19th March 2023.
