Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator

Join the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) and help promote small animal welfare.

BSAVA is looking for a skilled and experienced Marketing and Communications professional with a track record of delivering impactful Marketing campaigns.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support the development of BSAVA’s Public Relations, Communications and Marketing activities. You will provide insight into the strategic development of the PR and Communications strategy which bring the BSAVA brand, reputation, profile, products and services to life. You will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of BSAVA’s Social Media communication channels helping to review and improve current approaches and driving improvements to member experience and product sales. You will also be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with media outlets and journalists and developing and protecting BSAVA’s profile through the media.

About the candidate:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a track record of success, who can demonstrate excellent understanding of Marketing and Communications. Our members are at the heart of our organisation, and we’re looking for someone who is committed to a member-led approach, who can develop effective engagement strategies and deliver real impact for the association and our members.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with a good eye for detail and strong visual literacy. They will have significant previous experience of working in a Marketing or Communications role, ideally within a veterinary or a membership setting, and will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of effective engagement principles. Our annual Congress is a major event in our calendar, and applications from individuals with a background in events marketing would be particularly welcome.

Essential skills include:

Experience of planning and delivering effective Marketing and Communications campaigns
Ability to work proactively, using own initiative to accomplish a variety of tasks.
Experience in website development
Experience in using Photoshop and/or other visual design software
Up-to-date knowledge of marketing and communications tools, and commitment to staying abreast of trends
A genuine commitment to engagement practices and being part of a member-led organisation.

About the BSAVA:

The BSAVA is a professional membership association which exists to advance care for companion animals. With a membership of more than 10,000 veterinary surgeons, vet nurses and students, we work in the UK and internationally to promote excellence in small animal practice through education and science, by facilitating training, conducting research and developing policy. Each year we deliver numerous education courses, host the largest small animal Congress in Europe, and publish books, manuals, apps and magazines.

This post sits within the Membership & Marketing department and reports to the Communications and Marketing Manager.

Benefits:

This is a full-time role (40 hours per week), offering a salary between £21,000 - £25,000 per annum depending on qualification and experience. Benefits include hybrid working, a starting holiday entitlement of 25 days (increasing by 1 day each year up to 28 days) plus bank holidays, free on-site parking, 7% employer pension contributions, private medical insurance with Vitality, Employee Assistance Programme and Life Assurance of 4x salary.
