Head of Marketing
Hours: Part time 3-4 days per week. The charity is happy to talk flexible working and consider 3 or 4 working days or a shorter hour day across more days.
Location: Home Based (with occasional travel to the charity's offices).
Department: Fundraising
Salary: £42,000 FTE per annum
Contract: Fixed Term 18 months

Passionate, caring and trusted since 1970, this national charity provides more than 120 different services and works with around 80 Local Authorities across England in order to help disabled children and young people develop independence and achieve their aspirations. As well as working with individuals from birth through to age 25, the charity offers invaluable support and practical help for their families too, in environments where there’s a real sense of achievement. The work can be challenging, and humbling at times, but it’s also hugely rewarding and meaningful. Maybe that’s why the organisation's staff tend to stay with them for many years.
About The Role
This is an exciting time for a talented marketing and communications professional, with experience in a fundraising or sales environment, to join the charity. They are an ambitious charity with a clear strategy to increase their reach and engage more disabled children, young people, and their families. As Head of Marketing, you will lead new activity to raise awareness and support for the organisation amongst key external audiences.
Initially, your main priority will be completing an exciting brand refresh, establishing, and driving through the brand and delivering a new website alongside the Digital Project Lead by the end of 2023. More broadly, you will bring senior level experience to help build a strategic marketing approach whilst testing and optimising marketing plans.
Supported by the Digital Communications Officer, you will transform the charity's ability to create standout content, building a bank of impactful assets and stories. You will be quick to identify and engage the right stakeholders, proactively build strong relationships across service delivery teams, and work with service users to make that happen.
Combining a strategic approach with hands on delivery, you will be responsible for social media and email marketing. You will bring your experience of results-driven marketing planning, ensuring an audience and data-led marketing approach, from generating leads for new supporters, to converting, welcoming, and stewarding them through engaging journeys.
You will support the Director and CEO with broader external communications priorities, including building policy and campaigning capacity, and you will provide marketing expertise to help test new income generating services.
About You
The successful candidate will be comfortable with and experienced in CRM, you will support the day-to-day activity of the database and fundraising assistants, ensuring that efficient processes underpin excellent supporter care.
Highly collaborative and results focused, you will thrive on working on multiple projects whilst leading colleagues through change. You will bring your experience of results-driven marketing planning, ensuring an audience and data-led marketing approach, from generating leads for new supporters, to converting, welcoming, and stewarding them through engaging journeys.
