Are you an experienced sales or business development professional looking for your next step within the chemicals manufacturing sector?We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join a leading chemicals manufacturing company based in the West Midlands area. Reporting to the Managing Director your role is to develop new business for the company, being a significant member of the sales team working with our R&D team seeking out new business opportunities in our existing and alternative markets. This is predominantly a field based role with an expectation to be in front of new and existing customers most of the time.The position is full time but with flexibility in working hours to reflect the need to travel. The salary for this role will be dependent on the applicant’s level of Sales experience.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Business Development Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Achieve the sales and revenue budgets for new and recently developed products2. Regular customer contact including distributor, agents and direct customers3. Develop a knowledge of business markets served in order to develop new and existing business via global travelling4. Network with senior decision makers to negotiate sales with customers and agents5. Represent the company at key trade and industry events in UK, Europe, and to a lesser extent North America6. Monitor the performance of agents and key accounts to ensure sales budgets are achieved7. Find new agents where appropriate8. Project manage and deliver assigned projects9. Liaising with R & D, Production and Customer Services Department to ensure customer fulfilment.ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Business Development Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in a chemistry / chemicals related discipline. You will also have experience working across the chemicals business sector or a similar industry.2. Previous experience in a sales or business development role, demonstrated by your great planning and organisation skills and excellent inter-personal skills.
