Job: Business Development ManagerLocation: NewportHours: Monday – Friday days regular / Hybrid available Salary: Flexible dependant on experienceHere at the Recruitment Co we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a great company in the Newport area.Overview:They are an independent business operating in the Freight Forwarding logistics, import, exports via Air, Road & Ocean. As the company experiences significant growth, we are seeking to onboard a Sales & Marketing to expand our business. This role involves acquiring rates from airlines and sea lines, establishing accounts, and creating pricing structures for customer quotes. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with sales experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively.   • Negotiating rates and contracts with air and sea lines
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful delivery of services.
  • Develop sales strategies to achieve growth targets.
  • Stay updated on global freight forwarding market trends; regularly update quotations for each route and prepare promotional materials for freight products.
  • Drive sales and foster growth through the acquisition of new clients based on the company’s business routes, including shipping, air transportation, overseas warehouses, and other services.
  • Create essential procedures and processes to ensure the sales function operates smoothly, efficiently, and meets goals.
  • Contact potential and current clients via phone, email, face-to-face meetings, or networking.
  • Develop presentations and proposals for potential clients.
  • Schedule and manage your own appointments and time.
  • Market all freight services for both imports and exports.
  • Collaborate with the operational team, maintaining a positive attitude and being a team player.

Requirements:

  • Strength in Air Freight & Sea Freight is ESSENTIAL
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience (Air, Road & Ocean Imports/Exports)
  • Experience in customer relationship management, project management, negotiation, and marketing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In addition, the Sales Executive will be responsible for contacting airlines and sea lines to establish accounts with them. Once accounts are secured, the Sales Executive must develop a comprehensive pricing structure that can be used to quote customers for various jobs.This role requires a proactive approach, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to analyse market trends to ensure competitive pricing.
