Are you an ambitious, experienced and motivational technology sales or business development professional looking to take the next step in your career? This exciting new role offers the opportunity for a SaaS BDM with contacts across Government, Public Sector and Insurance to help take this thriving business to new heights.

Due to growth, our client is looking to recruit what will be a key role in their sales team, reporting to the Sales Director, you will be a pure new business hunter, developing and executing a pipeline of new business with Government, Public Sector and Insurance customers in line with the strategic plan.

You will operate with a consultative approach to your work, the sales cycle requires relationship building and understanding of the customers business rather than being transactional in nature.

Pipeline & forecasting.

  • Own the overall responsibility of the pipeline generation required to deliver targets.
  • Self-originate leads through targeting accounts/markets of interest, using ADP’s, Marketing support, Partner engagement, Customer whiteboarding session, Health Checks, Best Practice reviews etc.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly forecasts using Salesforce data that includes commit, upside and pipeline.

New opportunities

  • Create account development plans to support the self-origination of opportunities and by doing so create further customer insight for future expand opportunities.
  • Identify and engage additional support needed in origination of opportunities (E.g. Exec engagement, Meet the expert, Events).
  • Working with both marketing and the portfolio teams in ensuring the appropriate Services and Messaging is in-place to support the generation of pipeline.

Relationships

  • Own the relationship with a prospect from start to finish including all requirements for information, proposals, presentations or POCs to bring a deal to close.
  • Provide the professional handover to account management following customer onboarding.

Industry knowledge

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in customers industry and proactively contribute to the creation of propositions.
  • Demonstrate product knowledge and how it compares with our key competitors (specific training will be provided).

Minimum requirements of role

  • Demonstrable experience and a proven track record of meeting the responsibilities and objectives laid out above.
  • Experience working in a B2B sales team within the Central Government, Public Sector or Insurance sectors.
  • Experience selling tech products, ideally in Cloud, Networking and/or InfoSec.
  • Strong organisational skills and an analytical approach.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to converse with people operating at varying levels of seniority.
  • Enjoy working as part of a high functioning team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with intertwining deadlines while staying focused on the details.
  • Hungry and motivated to grow, learn and progress your career.
  • (Desirable) Completion of formal sales training.
