Business Development Manager – Ticketing Inspection SoftwareBasic Salary £45,000 – £55,000 dependent on experience + uncapped OTEHome Based in UKMy client is a specialist provider of software used by the rail industry and other transport sectors. The software is made up of 2 modules; a ticket inspection and prosecution system and a service quality module to identify sites or assets with maintenance or repair issues. Due to growth, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to generate new business within the rail market but also trams, buses and similar transport systems. It’s a home based role with UK travel and is a great opportunity for someone with experience selling software into the transport sector.The Role:

  • You’ll be selling both the ticket inspection software and the site assessment solution into the rail sector but also related transport markets
  • This is a new business role, from lead generation through to closing of the sale but once won it will pass to an account manager to look after on an ongoing basis.
  • You’ll be home based, covering the UK but there will be quite a bit of travel to customer sites
  • The average order value is around £100k ARR and there are often tenders involved so the lead times can be quite long – from 3 months to a year
  • This is a niche market and a fantastic opportunity to join the business at a growth period in this new role.

The Person:

  • We’re looking for someone who has experience selling software to the transportation sector.
  • You’ll definitely be a new business focused sales professional, able to generate your own leads and follow through to completion
  • Experience of tenders and a longer sales cycle is preferred
  • Location is flexible in the UK but ideally somewhere fairly central
  • You need to be ok with travel to customer sites and be able to stay overnight when needed, although this isn’t expected to be very often.
  • Fantastic communication skills are a must with the ability to be truly consultative with customers to solve their problems.

The Package:

  • Basic salary is very much dependent on experience but is likely to be £45,000 – £55,000 basic + uncapped OTE
  • 25 days holiday + stats
  • All travel expenses including mileage allowance
