Do you have strong sales/business development experience? Do you also have experience working within the freight forwarding sector?

I am recruiting for an experienced Business Development Consultant/Sales Representative to join a reputable client of mine, who are international dangerous goods specialists. This position will be a combination of field-based and office-based working, in Hounslow and the successful candidate will be working from 8am-6pm, Monday to Friday with a 1-hour lunch break. The Business Development Consultant/Sales Representative will have experience in the freight industry and will be comfortable spending most of their day driving to/meeting with clients nationally. The role will report into the Operations Manager, joining a small but friendly (and hard-working) team of dangerous goods air freight specialists.

Main duties: 

  • Lead generation via phone, email and face-to-face communication.
  • Building strong relationships with existing/potential clients and managing their accounts.
  • Arranging and attending weekly appointments.
  • Promoting the company’s services.
  • Weekly reporting with the Operations & Finance Managers.
  • Working towards weekly/monthly goals and KPI’s.

Key requirements: 

  • 2-3 years’ sales/business development experience (ideally within the freight sector)
  • Air freight experience
  • Comfortable spending more than 50% of the day meeting with national clients
  • Reliable, trustworthy and sales-minded
  • Confident selling products to clients on a daily basis
  • Driving license and own vehicle (essential)

Salary & package: 

  • Salary from £26,000 + commission 
  • Car allowance or mileage/expenses reimbursed
