About Us

Mission Aviation Fellowship UK is a Christian organisation that, for over 75 years, have been flying light aircraft over remote locations around the world. Our efforts have enabled more than 2,000 aid, development and mission organisations to provide emergency relief, long-term development and Christian hope to remote communities.

We utilise the power of aviation and technology to reach isolated people in need around the globe as we believe nothing should stop people from receiving the essentials of life no matter how remote they are.

By helping to link communities isolated from today’s ‘connected world’, we are ensuring that the severity of medical emergencies, natural disasters, conflict and famine are reduced and the light of God now shines brightly there.

We are now seeking a Marketing and Events Co-ordinator to join our team for a six to 12 month fixed term contract and support our events development and delivery.

The Benefits

- Competitive salary
- 22 days’ annual leave per annum plus Christmas office closure and Bank Holidays
- Pension scheme (10%)

If you are a talented events professional with a track record of working with volunteers, this is your chance to put your experience and knowledge towards our worthy cause.

In this highly rewarding role at the heart of our organisation, your exceptional events and marketing acumen will be vital in raising awareness of our work. Your efforts will ensure we have the donations needed to be there for the remote communities who need us the most.

You will have the opportunity to be part of our adventure, to help provide hope and transformation to communities around the world, helping to ensure that no one is cut off from aid they so desperately need.

In return, we will provide you with ample opportunities to expand your skill set and develop your career as you collaborate with, and learn from, our supportive, first-rate team.

The Role

As a Marketing and Events Co-ordinator, you will assist with the development, organisation and delivery of MAF events, including providing support for a UK wide event volunteer team.

Working as part of our new Matrix Team, you will provide key admin support and help to develop and deliver online and offline marketing and acquisition initiatives to raise brand awareness and recruit new supporters and donors.

You will plan and co-ordinate our presence at a range of events, organising logistics, risk assessments, resource availability, expenses, accommodation and transport bookings and briefing packs.

Co-ordinating volunteer recruitment, you will provide support for the UK wide event volunteer team. You will write briefing documents and process expenses as well as leading events on the day.

Additionally, you will:

- Track and monitor the success of all events
- Set up and maintain systems for delivering and reporting on event and marketing activities
- Help to research, identify and deliver opportunities to increase brand awareness
- Design new creative event ideas such as concepts and activities for our interactive challenges

About You

To be considered as a Marketing and Events Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience of organising and delivering events
- Experience of working with volunteers
- Previous experience of writing copy for a variety of audiences and channels
- Experience of creating and developing products and resources
- Experience of logistics planning
- Administrative experience
- Proficiency in IT, including MS Office
- A degree level qualification or equivalent
- A full, valid driving licence

An event qualification or training would be beneficial to your application, as would a marketing qualification. Experience of project work would also be advantageous, as would experience of working in a marketing and acquisition environment.

Experience of working with a Christian organisation or within a charity environment would also be desirable, as would the ability to use a CMS.

This is a full-time role for a six to 12 month contract, working 36 hours per week, which requires flexibility with additional hours as well as travel to events and conferences on weekends and evenings.

Other organisations may call this role Events Officer, Marketing Officer, Charity Marketing Officer, Events Executive, Charity Events Executive, Events Planner, Marketing and Events Officer, or Events Programme Co-ordinator.

Webrecruit and Mission Aviation Fellowship UK are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.
