Client Director – Independent Creative Agency – Central London – To £85k
Fast-growing, digitally led, independent Central London creative agency seeks experienced Client Director / Business Director to oversee the agency’s largest global client account.
There will be a heavy focus on producing entertaining and engaging mid-to-long form video content in the role and you will be collaborating with creators across music, gaming, fashion, motorsports, art and travel. Experience of and a passion for content-led digital marketing is essential.
The agency is a high-energy, hard-working and fast-paced cross-discipline team of talented (but ego-less) people who are passionate about doing the best possible work, whilst having fun doing it.
The Client Director Role
The agency are seeking a highly entrepreneurial Business Director / Client Director to lead the account and oversee the production of global and local campaigns at the forefront of digital culture.
They are looking for someone who’s equally happy liaising with board-level clients, as being hands-on with the day-to-day. Someone who can assume responsibility for the bigger picture, whist remaining accountable for the quality of the agency’s project delivery. Someone with a healthy paranoia for spotting problems before they happen, in time to escalate and course correct.
The ideal Client Director / Business Director will be immersed in, and have a passion for, content-led digital marketing and YouTube content/creators. You need to be strategically minded and commercial-driven, with a proven track record of cementing strong, candid and long-term senior client relationships built on trust and mutual respect. This role requires someone with the gravitas and rigour to run a tight ship, with the ability to see the wood for the trees.
You’ll be leading and developing a high-energy, hard-working and fast-paced cross-discipline team and be keen to work in the office for face-to-face collaboration as well as travel internationally for shoots.
You need plenty of experience steering and crafting sell-in decks with watertight data and insight-led methodology and realistic KPIs. You are highly skilled at presenting the arguments in these decks to convince multiple senior stakeholders to sign off work with its creative integrity intact.
This role requires a self-starter who can proactively drive the team and multiple projects forward, navigating unstructured and flexible briefs with a ‘can-do’ and conscientious attitude, problem solving along the way. A Client Director / Business Director who is comfortable working with ambiguity, jumping off from what we know and finding out the rest along the way.
You must have a firm grasp of the financials, managing complex revenue streams and selling-in new ones whilst protecting agency profitability to ensure there is sufficient margin to fund the extensive resource the account requires.
As there will be a heavy focus on producing entertaining and engaging mid-to-long form video content and collaboration with creators across music, gaming, fashion, motorsports, art and travel, a pre-existing passion for some of these genres would be beneficial. A natural curiosity to get under the skin of a wider range of content fandoms is essential. The agency’s work also covers media and brand partnerships, experiential events and esports tournaments.
For this huge FMCG client you will also be involved with the company’s sponsorship of and supporting activity around a Formula 1 team. It requires creative thinking to maximise the effectiveness of campaigns across multiple markets.
The clients the agency work with value the agency massively and are highly collaborative. They are fully invested in the agency and their work and lean heavily on the agency’s support to develop proposals and sell ideas into multiple stakeholders.
Once an idea has been approved, the client entrusts the agency with significant budgets and a large amount of autonomy; with this, comes proportionately high expectations.
Your role will be a highly senior client-facing and commercial role which will encompass client and account management, business development, strategic selling and project delivery.
Strong strategically, you have good team management experience as you will be managing a decent sized team; your broad skill set will be digitally led and you will understand the power of data and CRM (without needing to know the specifics), as well as platforms and content campaigns.
