Commercial Sales Director

Elevation Recruitment are working with a manufacturing business that specialise in the MMC (Modern Methods of Construction) industry with a focus on pre-assembled modular homes. From an innovative automated and digitally enhanced site, the business is continuing to grow this specialist arm of the group and seek a Commercial Sales Director to drive growth further.

As Sales & Commercial Director you will have accountability for all aspects of the commercial function, including new account acquisition, customer retention, sales growth and business development for the business.

You will be responsible for:

*Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new business, on-board new trading customers, and grow sales in a sustainable manner, coordinating the sales function
*Identify new value-adding business development opportunities, and be the instigator of new product development opportunities
*Coordinate pricing of design-led propositions to maximise value whilst securing sustainable growth in new business
*Manage the pipeline of prospective customers and their development schemes, through the various stages of gestation to maximise conversion of quotes to orders
*Secure relationships and specifications from customers, and/or consulting engineers, architects, and developers of schemes deploying Modern Methods of Construction (MMC)
*Carry out analysis on a monthly basis, working with the finance team, to thoroughly understand sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement and manage expenditure in line with budget
*Manage, coach and develop a high performing commercial function and sales team capable of meeting and exceeding agreed objectives

Skills and Experience:

*Recent relevant experience within the MMC sector, understanding innovative technology and site digitization and how this impacts customers
*Strong history of sales into the relevant customer base as outlined above
*Degree qualified in business/technical discipline
*Proven track record of delivering business development, and sales growth; experience of launching a start-up business is a bonus
*Flexibility and inventiveness to develop and optimise new sales opportunities
*Strong analytical capabilities, financial acumen and ability to understand and work with budgets
*Excellent leadership with strong management and interpersonal skills with an ability to manage multi-site team members
