tml Partners are working with a global leader in personal care and household products to appoint a Head of Brand Marketing - initially on a 12 month contract but with a view to this becoming a permanent role. This predominantly private label business produces products for many of the world's biggest brands and retailers but also have some brands of their own. This newly created position will be a crucial addition to the recently restructured marketing team and will bring a fresh and innovative approach to the go-to-market strategy for the company’s own brands. 

Reporting into a Marketing Director, the Head of Brand will assess the category opportunities across markets and in close cooperation with the other commercial functions, recommend the best approach to launch and grow a branded portfolio. They will shape and own the brand strategy, the brand guidelines and the brand P&L. They will create brand and seasonal campaigns and will manage an in-house design team as well as external agencies.  

The Head of Brand will lead and develop a small team. They will also be expected to develop extensive relationships internally (Global HO, innovation, category and sales teams,) and with external partners (retailers) in order to succeed. 

This position requires a proactive brand specialist who can operate at a highly strategic level whilst remaining truly hands-on throughout.

Experience and skills required:

  • Extensive and proven experience in launching and managing high growth consumer brands - household, health or beauty/personal care preferred. 
  • Will have worked within an FMCG business environment that produces private label products. 
  • A creative idea generator with solid marketing communication skills (brand/design/digital/social/PR).
  • Highly commercial with a solid understanding of sales, category and retail management and P&L ownership.
  • Strong senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to challenge and advise when required.
  • Excellent budget and time management.
  • A self-motivated, results-orientated team player who is able to work at pace.
