Job Title: Marketing & Communications Officer
Responsible to: Head of Income Generation, Marketing and Communications
Salary: £25,000 - £29,000 p.a.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week
Employer: Cancer Research Wales (CRW)
Annual Leave Entitlement: 25 days plus Public Bank Holidays. Also a discretionary day at Christmas
Base: Head office, Velindre Cancer Centre, Cardiff
Pension: Cancer Research Wales operate a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme (where CRW will contribute twice the contribution of its employee to a maximum of 13%)
Contract: Permanent, full time
This varied position will cover all areas of marketing and communications, including developing and maintaining the Charity’s digital presence to inspire people to take action in support of Cancer Research Wales (CRW).
As Marketing and Communications Officer, you will be responsible for translating departmental strategies into working plans to support organisational objectives. This is a demanding role in a busy charity and offers an opportunity to build a solid foundation in digital communications, events marketing and brand development in a forward-thinking charity with a strong reputation.
Externally, you’ll be responsible for developing and protecting CRW’s brand across Wales. On a day-to-day basis, this means finding and promoting relevant and engaging stories as well as ensuring that media and other external queries are handled in a timely and accurate way.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating dynamic and inspiring content that engages with a range of audiences. You will have a working knowledge of websites and social media platforms as well as experience of designing and producing a variety of print materials.
With demonstrable experience of working in a marketing and/or communications environment, we are looking for someone who is well organised, creative, analytical and focused on results, demonstrates attention to detail and is able to prioritise their work effectively.
