New Data & AI division within established Listed PLC starting a major data transformation project instigated by the CEO. It therefore has the full backing on the board and will be done.

A year in the planning and careful thinking now gives a real purpose to the "Power of Data" with no limits on what can be done.

Specific accountabilities of the role include :
 

• Proactively drives the vision for Data Engineering, aligned to the Consumer strategy -  and define and execute on a plan to achieve that vision.
• Drives data availability and quality in Consumer and across our systems
• Acts as the technical expert and collaborates internally within the appropriate teams; advises, coaches and mentors members of the team or department
• Provides direction and has the autonomy and authority to resolve critical-situation technical problems at the team or department level
• Drives tangible and ongoing standardisation, simplification and efficiency of engineering processes, overseeing, reviewing and revising continuous improvement opportunities.
• Continually looks to expand knowledge in new and evolving areas of data engineering, analytics and machine learning.
• Act as the chapter leader for data engineering and data architecture
• Manages a £multi-million capital investment programme in data products and services
