Job Role

As a Marketing Innovator at Seefar, you will be running your own marketing and branding projects for an organisation working globally to help vulnerable people advance themselves. This role will design and execute marketing activities that support Seefar’s global work to accelerate the drawdown of carbon from Earth’s atmosphere. This role is broad in scope and will see you working on both commercial and donor-funded initiatives in some of the most vulnerable communities in the world. You’ll be proud of the impact you create, the things you will learn and the fun you will have. If you think you are the one we are seeking, then make sure you have a marketing, PR or related degree, a minimum of two years professional marketing experience, preferably with a creative agency, and are completely fluent in English. This is an initial twelve month contract position, working remotely which means you can live wherever on our beautiful planet you would like.

Job Description

We are a social enterprise with a vision for a world where vulnerable people have more opportunities to advance themselves. We work with some of the most vulnerable populations whose situations are impacted more and more by climate change. Climate change has become a hidden driver of migration, human trafficking, displacement, extremism and social exclusion in many contexts, as well as being one of humanity’s greatest challenges in its own right. We work in East Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, East Africa, North Africa, the Sahel and Europe. For more information about us, please visit the About Us section on our website.

This role demands someone who is smart, intrinsically motivated, worldly and interested in hard challenges. Seefar has a bias towards action + impact and you should share this instinct.

We receive funding from the German, British, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Austrian and Australian governments; from international organisations such as the United Nations and World Bank; from the European Union; and from foundations and philanthropy to tackle some of the most difficult problems in the world.

We have just launched our new Accelerating Carbon Drawdown programme that is designed to tackle the drivers of climate change using solutions backed by scientific consensus. This role will support the marketing of various initiatives that form part of the programme.

We are looking for someone with:

  • An instinct towards action + impact.
  • A marketing, PR or relevant degree.
  • Creativity, flair, personality and the ability to leverage those attributes to execute marketing.
  • An eye for design and visual appeal.
  • An interest in the full range of marketing and branding activities and a desire to be innovative and experimental.
  • Motivation to learn, develop, and grow to achieve social impact, with an openness to new places and cultures, and high comfort working with a diverse, geographically spread team.
  • Comfort learning and adapting to new software, and willingness to communicate using Skype.
  • Complete fluency in oral and written English.

The following are the primary responsibilities of the role, with estimated allocations of time and attention.
