We would love to introduce you to this entrepreneurial brand which is a long established market leader within cutting edge wearable technology across the world. They are currently looking for an E-Commerce & Digital Marketing to spearhead the creation of an exclusive new channel to market within Japan.

You would be joining a brand that have been established within the Japanese market for over 20 years and already have a strong brand presence in the region. Conversely, a step-change in approach means that you would approaching this as a brand new market but one which is underpinned by the benefit of strong brand recognition within the region.

Having successfully traded in the Country via Direct to Response TV during this time, the company have identified that they can achieve more growth in the Japanese market by changing approach and building their Direct to Consumer Channel as the exclusive route to market.

With a Global Marketing Team and a Tokyo based agency in support  your challenge would be to lead all digital and marketing comm’s to develop and grow the channel from the ground up.

Developing a series of MVP’s,  you would be taking a consumer/data led approach to developing this channel and would be focussed on substantial learning about both campaigns and the market so that ultimately you identify where localisation would be needed.

You will be a fluent Japanese speaker, ideally with a mix of digital and consumer marketing experience along with a strong understanding of Japanese culture, which will aid you in developing the key messaging and channels required to grow this channel.

This is not a role for somebody who wants to plod along but rather someone who would be excited by the opportunity to have full autonomy on growing the Japanese market and consequently a team in the region.  Additionally, what you create in order to develop the Direct to Consumer Channel in this market could be the blueprint for the company entering new markets globally, giving you potential to operate on a global scale within the business.  This is a remote working position and can be based anywhere in the UK or Europe.
