Job Title: Bid Manager
Business: Life Sciences Business
Location: Cheshire
Base Salary: £33k-£36k depending upon experience and generous benefits package.
Focus of the role: The function of this role is to assist The Head of Research Funding in pinpointing appropriate grant funding, public sector and commercial opportunities. You will use your experience in organising and writing collaborative bids to spearhead high-impact innovative R&D projects to be undertaken . The role would suit a creative and adaptable individual.
Job Description:

Main duties and responsibilities:
Organise/Write an arranged number of tenders per year as Lead Bid Manager
Assist the scientific, technical and syndicate teams by identifying opportunities and undertake the high-quality generation and submission of R&D tenders created to lead to funded projects
Providing support to help other Big Managers in concept generation meetings
Spearheading the negotiation of their successful tenders through the contracting stage with the funder.
Flexibility required to work on some non-grant tenders/proposals eg. strategy documents, R& D loans, proposals, tenders etc.

Skillset required - Essential:
Minimum relevant Honours Degree
Relevant Bid/Grants experience in Life Sciences, Public Sector, Professional Services or Engineering
Proven experience working with publically funded R&D models, for instance as H2020, Innovate UK and RCUK, with a focus relating to proposal creation & contract negotiation
Good familiarity with technical subjects and the ability to understand the basic concepts of new technologies quickly.

Skillset required - Desirable:
Proven experience in charity and/or philanthropic fundraising with MS Project, Experience using Oxford or APA style guides
