This leading legal firm is looking for a Business Development Manager (EPI). This position plays a key role in supporting the Employment, Pensions & Incentives practice at what is an exciting time for the global team, the global BD function and the wider firm. It involves a large amount of liaison with fellow business development colleagues, business services professionals and fee earners within this firm's growing international network.

Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Relationship building.
  • Pitches, proposals and tender submissions.
  • CRM & key client activities.
  • Research and analysis to identify targets for the practice groups and take responsibility for targeting initiatives.
  • Reputation enhancement, brand & profile.
  • Management of information, projects and budgets.
You will have a strong understanding and awareness of contentious and non-contentious EPI work and topical legal/ commercial issues and a demonstrated effort to achieve your team's common goals.

You'll possess a high level of responsiveness to day-to-day demands from key internal stakeholders, show timely and effective delivery of work, quality & effectiveness of ideas/input to strategic issues and a successful development and implementation of an EPI business development plan. You'll be able to demonstrate development and maintenance of key internal relationships and have the ability to operate at both ends of the strategic/operational spectrum as required.

You will have previous experience of working in a partnership and approximately 5 years of marketing/BD experience (both are desirable, but will consider candidates with more or less experience providing they meet the required competencies). This firm will consider applications from qualified lawyers that have an interest in moving into a Business Development & Marketing role and any experience of working within Disputes and or Employment, Pensions & Incentive practices desirable.

You'll possess great writing skills and attention to detail, have proficiency with systems, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint - InterAction preferable, be intelligent and commercially minded with high energy and enthusiasm and you'll take a confident and considered approach to challenges. You'll have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and command respect from others. With strong influencing skills you'll have the ability to build strong effective relationships with partners and senior executives across the firm.
