Let’s Get Down To Business

Reporting to the Field Sales Manager for Italy, you will be part of a diverse sales team and will work closely with direct reports. The role demands a great deal of stakeholder involvement and engagement at various levels, so is ideal for someone who enjoys communication and building long lasting relationships.


The new Area Manager will join the fantastic Italian team: great team spirit, collaboration, support, fun.


This a fast paced role and the work load can be intense at times, so we are looking for an “hands on” and quite autonomous person that does like to travel (visiting customers in the region), and is able to build strong relationships with customers to understand their needs, and is able to motivate a team. Focus on results is a must!


  • Responsible of sales structure (8 agents of brokers + Regional KAM) management, motivation and development.

  • Responsible to reach through his team, the assigned targets for the area from Field Sales Manager (FSM): turnover, net sales and gross margin; distribution (numerical and weighted); all the company business kpi’s established in the Annual Business Plan and declined by FSM for the area of competency.

  • Responsible to decline all assigned targets to the agents, in order to get the results.

  • Responsible to propose and manage local budget (second level negotiation, listing), defined customer by customer, with FSM and Business Account Manager’s agreement, every quarter.

  • Responsible to develop the business also through new customers.

Ideally you will have experience as an Area or Field Manager gained within a global commercial or FMCG business.

In this role, it is important that you are able to work autonomously, flexibly and collaboratively with individuals and teams. Professional experience is important. But it’s paramount you share our values and belief in ‘challenge to win’.

Here are some of the experience we’re looking for:

  • Area Management experience with focus on South and Center Italy, in a mult national company (preferably consumer goods or personal care)  

  • Agents management will be a plus.  

  • Deep knowledge of center and South distribution environment,

  • both modern and traditional channels.

  • People management and motivation.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

  • Strong result orientation and “hands on” approach.

  • Clear Priority management.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Collaboration & diplomacy skills.

  • Strong knowledge of IT tools (excel, power point, order entry tools)

  • University degree or equivalent in commercial related subject.

  • Good English Skills (speaking and writing)
