This leading legal firm needs a capable and enthusiastic coordinator to support the M&BD Managers and Advisers in BD and marketing activities for the Corporate practice.

The role will encompass a range of business development and marketing activities including: pitching and credentials; client targeting and cross-selling; client/sector and competitor analysis; profile raising and marketing campaigns including communications such as directory submissions, deal reporting brochures, online content, and BD evaluation and reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

Pitches & credentials
  • Assisting with the co-ordination of pitch responses and credentials statements ensuring best practice methodology is applied and providing input to firm-wide pitches and assist colleagues in other offices with their pitches in these practice areas.

Knowledge management
  • Maintaining key M&BD resources including on the global intranet, the firm's website and master credentials documents and updating and maintaining the internal database of deals.
  • Maintaining the firm's repository for directory rankings and quotations.
  • Support lawyers in maintaining their CVs and in tailoring them for specific pitches and industry sectors. Ensure global team lists are kept up to date with new joiners, leavers and promotions.
  • Producing internal communications including electronic newsletters and encourage full and effective use of the firm's CRM database (InterAction).

Profile raising and marketing campaigns
  • Co-ordinating on client events/seminars in conjunction with the Events team and Professional Support Lawyers, and contributing to practice area entries in directories, award submissions and legal supplements.
  • Supporting the firm's deal reporting process, and co-ordinating the production of client alerts, liaising with the authors, relevant PAs and the InterAction team to ensure publication to deadline.
  • Co-ordinate internal communications for the group, including internal newsflashes and quarterly partner meetings, creating targeted mailing lists for newsletters, newsflashes, events, seminars.
  • Support the M&BD team and central PR team on effective profile raising plans and campaigns and thought leadership campaigns for the practice.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the wider M&BD effort, which will include participating in specific firm-wide M&BD initiatives and projects, as required.

You will have previous experience in working in a business development/marketing environment, and a general understanding of marketing and business development processes. You'll have the ability to create a positive impact with colleagues, peers, partners and clients and to demonstrate diplomacy, listening and influencing skills and good written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to write in a compelling way. You'll have good project management skills including the ability to plan ahead and prioritise conflicting demands to meet deadlines for the team.
