Our client is a corporate communications agency with over 100 employees across two offices. Their clients are FTSE 100/Fortune 500 and companies in the financial and professional services sectors. They have sector expertise, and a full service approach (print, film, digital, social). Their business specialises in the joining up of corporate messaging across branding, reporting, employee and stakeholder communications.

The role

The agency has a heritage of delivering stakeholder communications which is underpinned by a large team of strategists and researchers who help distil their clients messaging around legislation, market trends and best practice. The use of corporate narrative and content is to join up the agencies services and create a fluid connected message for their clients across multiple channels. This is a growing methodology which our client intends to grow over the next few years. The role of the Business Development director is to drive the commercial success of Corporate narrative and content by developing their existing and new client base. 

This is a strategic commercial role in nature, and the ideal candidate will have built a strong network of contacts in financial and professional services and have demonstrated an ability to leverage that network. Examples of being effective and successful in such circles is desirable. The business development director will be accountable for growing the pipeline for corporate narrative and content work; doing this effectively will mean becoming fully conversant in this type of communication and understanding the challenges the agencies clients face. 

Your previous experience may have been in financial PR but you are looking for a more creative environment. You could be from a Corporate Reputation agency background also a traditional design or consulting/branding agency background within the B2B sector. 

Key to being successful in this role will be to have the ability to build relationships with other referrers such as investment banks, lawyers, brokers and financial PR agencies.
