The Crisis Communications Consultant and Trainer role
This Crisis Communications Consultant and Trainer role is not a conventional PR role, and will not suit many PR practitioners, but it is a truly exciting opportunity to work within a growing consultancy with global clients focussing on the planning, training, and execution of crisis management. The majority of our client's business is preparing its clients to successfully manage a crisis through crisis management planning, training and exercising and sometimes advice. Working with your experienced colleagues, you will develop and deliver crisis management plans, training, workshops and exercises, often overseas. The work you do will ensure clients are ready to successfully respond to a crisis, whether a product recall, terrorism or cyber-attack. You will build strong and trusting relationships with colleagues and the consultancy's impressive client list, often working with senior management. When crises or issues break, you will be trusted to give clients best advice, even if sometimes it's not what they want to hear. Given the continued success of the consultancy and its exciting growth plans, this role will also provide the opportunity to be involved with business development, client relationship management, marketing and service innovation. The role will be based remotely with regular meet-ups and weekly video calls for all staff, and you will be provided with all the tools to carry out your role from home. We first worked with this client 12 months ago, successfully adding a consultant to their team, and they are now looking to increase their staff to reflect the fantastic new business they have won.
What we're looking for
Due to the complex nature of this Crisis Communications Consultant and Trainer role and the home-working element, the successful candidate will have no less than ten years' experience within a consultancy environment. Corporate communications would be an ideal background, and crisis communications experience would be a distinct advantage, but you may also have experience of delivering and facilitating crisis management training or exercises. You will need to be a strong influencer with superb presentation skills, trusted always to deliver to high standards and on time. You must be a team player who earns the trust and respect of colleagues and clients alike.
