BD Manager (Infrastructure) - 9-12 Month FTC
Operating in one of the key sector groups at this major international law firm, you will be involved in the development and execution of practical global marketing and BD programmes for the infrastructure, mining and commodities sector group on a fixed term contract basis for 9-12 months.
Reporting to the Global Head of Business Development - IMC and the Global Head of IMC, the role holder will work in co-operation with business development teams across the region and with colleagues in Australia, Canada, South Africa, South America and the US. The Business Development Manager will have responsibility for the continued development of the IMC practice for the EMEA region across all sectors including infrastructure, mining, commodities and food and agribusiness and will support the Global Head of Business development in relation to the firm's global strategy. The successful candidate will plan and lead incisive communications, marketing and business development tactics across both the EMEA and global business, ensuring key objectives in the business plan are met, adopting tactics in line with both the global strategy and tailored to local markets. Using the full marketing mix, your objective will be to raise and maintain the group's profile on a global level, and to deliver the business priorities of revenue generation, profile development and opportunity realisation through client-focused activities. In addition to your day-to-day management and supervision responsibilities for the London based team Executive and Bid Specialist, you will be expected to develop existing client relationships as well as identifying new target opportunities; develop best practice to improve efficiency and transparency; ensure communication channels are used optimally; and co-ordinate contributions and input into BD systems.
The successful candidate will be a confident and persuasive graduate or equivalent with relevant experience in a legal or professional services environment, ideally with a professional marketing or communications qualification. You must have strong leadership qualities and excellent writing, editorial and oral communication skills allied to a high attention to detail. The Business Development Manager must also possess the ability to manage projects and people effectively. In addition, experience in a client-facing role, a genuine interest in the sector and a positive and professional approach are essential.
