Senior Account Executive or Account Manager

The Role  

Our client is an extremely creative and culturally connected top tier consumer agency  in the UK. The team consists of a team of 50 based in central London working mainly on highly creative and fantastic global consumer brands with experience in a number of different sectors. They are now growing across consumer tech, food and drink, big travel brands, entertainment and gaming brands, and in digital and online brand work. This specific role you will have the chance to work on some of the worlds highly known consumer tech brands and in a super creative team.  

Key skills expected at this level 

  • A good grasp of the key publications and target media per client
  • Nurturing strong relationships with a range of trade, broadcast and national print journalists
  • An ability to pick up the phone and “sell in” a news story or feature opportunity
  • A confidence in handling blogger outreach and managing social media channels for our clients
  • Active participation in client meetings, and an ability to pick up actions from the “contact report” and see them through to their conclusion, with some guidance from your team
  • An ability to execute a campaign and manage different strands of activity
  •  Good presentation skills and confidence in new business meetings
  • Strong writing skills which means written work is to a high standard (and grammatically correct)
  • Creativity – a willingness to contribute thoughts and ideas to team brainstorms
  • A doggedness and determination to get results on behalf of your clients
  •  General optimism which means you’re always looking for solutions rather than dwelling on problems
  •  A desire to “pitch in” and work collaboratively to get the best results
  • Bravery: not afraid to come up with a silly idea or pitch a story
  • ·Respecting the working day (9am - 6pm) and going the extra mile if required
  • The daily or weekly tasks you’d usually expect to complete as a “senior account executive”
  • Overseeing and assisting in pulling together coverage books, reports, proposals and boards for clients as required
  • Desk research for clients or prospects, using range of tools available
  • Pulling together and researching media lists
  • Organising media mail-drops
  • Producing close-to-final drafts of client status reports or meeting notes
  • Producing good first drafts of news releases, feature notes and photo-call notices
  • Commissioning and briefing suppliers such as photographers, radio agencies, celebrity agents and research houses
  • Managing social media programmes including twitter and blogger outreach
  • Producing first drafts of research questions if commissioning research
  • Producing first drafts of radio cue-sheets and broadcast notes
  • Keeping track of client budgets
  • Attending client meetings and conference calls, and producing action notes afterwards
  • Building relationships with key clients
  • Selling-in news stories and feature ideas and being relentless in your pursuit of coverage
  • Attending and participating in new business presentations
