Salary: £50k – £55k plus benefits

Team: 2x Junior Digital Designers

Hybrid Working: 3 days in office, 2 days working from home

Are you a Digital Designer looking for a new challenging role?Are you from an agency or client-side background looking to take on a new challenge and be the second in command for a creative function?Have you got experience managing or mentoring a team?Have you had experience managing a varied workload of design tasks including Animation?Then this role could be for you!

I’m working with a Casino, Bingo and Gaming brand based in London who are looking to add a Team Lead to the Creative function, this is a new addition to the team due to an increased workload and a fantastic 2023. They had a record-breaking 2023 and 2024 is focused on growing their customer base on a global basis, they are currently in multiple regions such as the UK, EU, US and South America. This role will be responsible for leading a team of Digital Designers (2) and focusing on the management of all BAU Digital activities. As they focus on growing their customer base they need to make sure customer experience the brand in the right way so they want to focus on landing pages, banners and animation. There is already a team 2 in place but they have several roles in the planning stage that could increase the team to 4. They currently have agency support for multiple regions so they will look to you to support on the global acquisition strategy

The brand is a well-established player in the online gaming world, over the last couple of years, they have developed a loyal customer base who engages with them. They have a multi-million-pound budget focused on the UK, Spain, Mexico, Sweden, Canada, and plans to enter many new markets.

The role is going to beat leader within the function and be the day to day manager of creative output for team, as they continue to focus on expansion the Head of Creative will be focused on big-picture projects and they will look to you, to manage a portion of the team and be the face of the team for the wider business and make sure that customer have the best digital experience from your design work.

Outside of the day-to-day management of Design, the role will also have the opportunity to get involved with wider design projects such as Outdoor and Print and work directly with the Head of Creative. They have just finished a restructure so they are looking for an aspiring leaders who wants to build a team around them.

The role is based in London and will be required to be in the office three days a week for team-related collaboration. The client has a no video call rule so anytime you’re in the office it will be for something team-related not a Zoom call in a new location.

Role responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and production of digital creative
  • Mentoring and managing DR designers / Conducting weekly 121s / Objective setting / Performance reviews
  • Reviewing requests/briefs, sizing and assigning the work to direct reports.
  • Review & approve marketing design outputs from the UK designers (hero banners, CRM banners, landing pages, social media and programmatic (animated and static) digital banners, OOH, print, merchandise and Direct Mailers and ensure they answer the design brief whilst complying to internal templates and the company brand guidelines for the Creative Lead’s final approval.
  • Pragmatically approach projects to ensure both creative and business needs are met.
  • Regularly collaborate with marketing/design department.
  • Keeping project stakeholders well briefed on current timings, status and potential issues.
  • Follow & police the company’s brand guidelines, Brand tone-of-voice and compliance guidelines in all creative.
  • Instigate & lead  project kickoff meetings with designers and stakeholders and lead the project from concept & ideation through to client approval & QCing of final outputs.

The Creative Team Lead role requires the following experience: 

  • An outstanding digital marketing design portfolio
  • Team Management experience is essential
  • Extensive experience with web page design and front-end development, and experience in animation is also a massive plus
  • Be an innovator in your field.
  • Capable of looking at the big picture and diving into details.
  • Have the ability to solve difficult design problems and create frameworks from these design solutions.
  • Strong, confident communicator with colleagues below, above, and adjacent to them.
  • Be an inspiring leader with deep insights into the personal motivations of their team members.
  • Shifts from planning projects to planning programs with ease.
  • Has proven processes and frameworks for complex design problems.
  • Excellent communicators, confident writers, and speaker.
  • A strong ability to lead a design team through influence and inspiration.
