What experience you'll need
  • Core skills will be PHP, MVC (one of Laravel, Symfony2, CodeIgniter, Yii etc), MySQL.
  • At least one open source CMS (they work with Magento, WordPress and Expression Engine).
  • Strong front-end abilities with HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript, JQuery, RESTful APIs.
  • Solid experience covering Unit testing, Git, Linux, Nginx and Apache.
  • Additional beneficial skills or ones you can expect to pick up will include; Node, Ajax, integration testing, continuous integration and mobile development (Objective C, Swift, Cocoa Touch for iOS, Java for Android).
  • They’ll also look to you to keep up to date with emerging tech and make suggestions where needed to help progress their applications.
What you'll be doing

As a Web Developer, your main responsibility is for the development, modification and maintenance of websites and web application user interfaces.  You’ll be working closely with designers, in using semantic HTML5 markup, CSS3 and JavaScript to turn their static designs into fully functional websites and applications.  There will be plenty of challenging greenfield and e-commerce client solutions to work on and you’ll be able to develop scalable, secure and robust web applications and interactive, database driven websites (open source CMS).  Alongside other developers, you will be asked to integrate frontend code with backend code on more complex bespoke applications built in PHP frameworks like Laravel.
