Your new companyA global legal firm is looking to appoint a Social Media Specialist to join the Marketing department’s Corporate Communications team and report into the senior social media manager. They have offices in the US, Europe, Asia and Middle East, the organisation is known for it’s experience in a broad array of industry sectors. If you have experience with analysing marketing data from social media channels then this is the perfect role for you.Your new roleThis position supports the coordination of firmwide social media activities, with an emphasis on social sharing, analysis and social listening. This position is responsible for supporting the execution of firmwide social media campaigns and decentralized social media activities emanating from practice and industry groups; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Pro Bono, Recruitment; and other areas of the global firm. The incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day social media activities: content generation, publishing, monitoring, listening, tracking and reporting. The role requires a detailed understanding of publishing tools, analytics tools and social marketing technology, as well as social platforms such as Linkedln, X, Facebook, YouTube and lnstagram .The social media specialist is part of a firmwide team responsible for the company’s digital presence, including the website and other external websites, blogs, social media, podcasting and content aggregation. This position will support our digital channels and related analytics tracking.

  • Support the firm’s social media function, including message development, posting and scheduling of content. Help ensure the firm is giving our social media followers the most relevant and engaging content via owned channels. The position requires an interest in developing a deep understanding of social voice, tone and best practices.
  • Provide basic editorial support for the firm’s social media channels and assist with maintenance of profiles across social networks.
  • Track metrics, monitor conversions, conversations and trends, providing analytical guidance and support.
  • Working with the Senior Social Media Manager and the Campaigns team, optimize paid social media products and services to amplify media campaigns.
  • Actively listen to the social media community on a daily/weekly basis, analyzing and interpreting results to drive social media campaign optimization. Review client facing communications to evaluate worthiness and readiness for social media promotion. Review third-party communications on the firm’s social media channels and propose appropriate response tactics.
  • Support the Digital team, editing the website and external firm blogs as needed.
  • Support the firm’s SEO activities, researching keywords, keyword trends, and monitoring reporting dashboards.
  • Support the firm’s podcast function, including scheduling activities, post-production and promotion.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need to succeed

  • College-level training in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in a marketing role requiring independent work and demonstrated project leadership.
  • Social media marketing experience in a professional services, corporate, government or journalism environment is a plus.
  • Understanding of how to leverage social platforms (including Linkedln, X, Facebook, YouTube and lnstagram) in marketing campaigns.
  • Paid advertising experience (LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Ads) is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with content management systems. Knowledge of HTML, understanding of a ticketing system, and experience administrating organizational social media accounts are preferred.
  • An understanding of SEO/SEM and how to gather digital analytics is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Passion for staying ahead of digital trends and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and solve problems quickly.
  • Must be able to assist individuals of various levels with needs and problems and react to difficult situations appropriately
