Regional Marketing and Business Development Manager | Professional Services | Manchester

My client is a high profile International Law firm with a reputation for exceptional client service. They are looking to recruit a Regional Marketing & Business Development Manager responsible for developing and maintaining the profile and reputation of the firm in the local marketplace and for delivering the firm's global strategy on a regional UK basis. In conjunction with the Office Managing Partners in the region, you will create and manage delivery of the regional/office Marketing & BD plan in line with the firm's UK strategy. You will manage/coordinate the resources required to deliver the plan including people and budget, and you will demonstrate return on investment.

Key Responsibilities

*Supporting industry sector development and local profile/business needs in the local region
*Supporting the development of the firm's key clients and encourage the cross-selling of the firm's services
*Helping to promote and undertake structured relationship and matter reviews with clients
*Developing regional and office target lists across local practice areas and sectors.
*Managing local pitches and debriefs
*Working closely with the central external communications team and practice/sector marketing managers, help to oversee PR and communications activities for the region
*Defining the current and emerging market and technical issues worthy of comment, identify platforms with the right profile/delegates and run marketing campaigns to promote the firm
*Creating and delivering an internal marketing programme to improve understanding of the region across the firm, increasing leads and referrals
*Making recommendations on improving our overall position to create distinct profile and messages for the local markets, fully aligned to the brand
*Helping to build and manage competitor intelligence for the region to support broader brand and BD activities

The successful candidate will
*Interpret information requirements and manage projects
*Contribute information and ideas to the strategy process
*Create competitive operational marketing plans and budgets
*Create and manage effective integrated marketing communication plans
*Prepare business cases for regional activity and progress these to market
*Establish and develop effective support for channels to market
*Manage and monitor activities and information to deliver effective client service
*Plan marketing projects and prepare budgets
*Manage and report on project delivery against plan and objectives
*Use information on marketing systems to make strategic decisions
*Establish and monitor activities and information to deliver effective client relationships and service
*Evaluate activities and identify improvements using measurement data
*Manage individuals and teams
*Embrace change and influence others to modify their behaviours and attitudes where necessary
*Plan and manage budgets in line with Marketing guidelines demonstrating analytical skills to interpret financial information

The successful candidate will be/have

*Degree/CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing (desirable) along with knowledge of Marketing/BD processes - a sound understanding of new business processes, CRM as a concept and the emerging technologies needed to help us win and retain clients legal work
*A professional approach, with strong commitment and internal client care skills
*Excellent communication and project management skills.
*Excellent understanding of generalist marketing activities and be commercially minded
