A highly experienced Javascript Developer is needed to join a fast-growing, forward-thinking and highly impressive Bristol software house. Within the role there will be a split between working on brand new development and assisting in developing enhancements for existing clients using some seriously cutting-edge tech (inc Node, React etc).  You will have full responsibility through the entire development cycle, from taking the brief to deployment, allowing you complete control over your work and time to experiment and focus on creating amazing products.

What experience you'll need

You will be the company’s first JavaScript developer so your core skillset will be based around this. They're keen to find talented candidates with Nodejs (ideally) or React alongside solid front-end tech.  Knowledge of RDBMS is important and if you have worked with any kind of functional programming languages that will be highly desirable. Experience with Windows development, Linux, Bootstrap and UX/Usability are all seen as bonuses too but you'll be able to find time to play around and learn new tech within the role, passing on your knowledge where you can.

What you'll be doing

You will predominately be focussed on brand new projects, moving the business towards JavaScript development. You will also be working with existing clients to create enhancements and improvements to their current software. You’ll be engaging new clients directly to gather requirements and then will manage those projects all the way through to delivery and after-care if needed. Working with new techniques and tech, you’ll be quickly getting to grips with other people’s code bases, both in-house and 3rd party and using that to build market leading software and provide top end service. The product is already a leader in it's field within the e-commerce sector and you'll play a key part in strengthening it as they're keen to move their entire product suite to a MEAN/JS stack in order to be more innovative.

What you'll get in return for your talents

This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit and friendly business at a time of expansion. You’ll be based in modern offices that have recently been refurbished, with a view to actually move soon into even bigger and better digs. There’s a casual dress code to match the informal, yet focussed office. A great salary package (£35-45K) alongside 25 days holiday + bank holidays, private healthcare and pension, childcare voucher scheme and free on-site parking! This is the chance to really take control of your own personal development within a role and help guide the business in a new interesting direction whilst feeling like you're making a real difference.
