Digital Development Manager
Permanent Full/Time

Our client is a leading FTSE global B2B organisation serving a variety of industries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work the UK division as part of a busy, in-house digital team providing digital expertise, support and best practice.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in digital development and product management with an excellent technical understanding of online usability and a passion for all things digital. You will be customer focused with excellent communication skills and the ability to apply your experience in order to help take our digital offering to the next level.

You will be supporting 2 key platforms; in house customer portal system including directories and a 3rd party platform. You will manage 2 front end developers.

Key responsibilities

Gather Requirements
·To represent the UK requirements at global forums in future platform developments
·Ensure current and future online development requirements are gathered, prioritised and articulated
·Using customer feedback and ongoing business objectives, evaluate current online products to define and manage a prioritised roadmap of enhancements, new features and optimisation initiatives to address the current and future needs of our users

Stakeholder Management
·Work closely with colleagues in the digital team to share best practices and develop overall strategies and functionality to increase the offering to our customers (internal and external)
·Ensure all communications related to development releases are delivered to the UK business
·Run workshops and training on new products and features

Product Delivery
·Document current and future products and features including setup, workflow and troubleshooting
·Co-ordinate and manage user acceptance testing (UAT) for future releases
·Manage a demo environment to provide live examples of how onsite products and features look and behave demonstrating standardisation of design and best practice
·Play a key role in preparing the business for a new global web platform (CMS), working collaboratively with global stakeholders, the UK digital team and UK shows to ensure an excellent solution and seamless transition
·Support our data integrations, SSO and use of API's to deliver the necessary data integration between our websites, mobile apps and external vendors
·Prioritise the development backlog and ensure all projects are fully scoped and briefed into the team
·Work closely with the Digital Production team to share best practise, generate ideas, promote continuous improvement and ensure we adopt a standardised approach where advantageous

Usability and Customer Engagement
·Understand online metrics and how to use the insights to adapt and evolve the offering to ensure maximum impact and return is delivered
·Co-ordinate with the Head of Digital Operations, third party product vendor relationships and the continued assessment of their technologies and service levels
·Understand and map the customer journey in order to grow online engagement and ultimately show return

Line Management
·Responsibility for the management and development of 2 front end developers
·Prioritise the development backlog and ensure all projects are fully scoped and briefed into the team

Key areas of Expertise
·Digital product experience
·Extensive online experience in a commercial environment
·Extensive knowledge of CMS systems, usability and customer journeys
·Excellent working knowledge of HTML and CSS
·Good understanding and experience of working with APIs
·Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
·Effective stakeholder management skills with a strong customer focus
·A natural aptitude for problem solving
