A major international law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager, Financial Institutions (Lead). The focus of this senior role is to work within Marketing and BD team to provide high-quality, proactive business development advice to the lawyers in this sector, helping them to develop and grow their client relationships. In addition, you will implement and evolve the marketing and BD strategy for the most important Financial Institutions clients and for the sector as a whole, optimising the management of the financial and procurement relationships with key clients whilst managing a team of Business Development Managers who report directly into this role.

Your key responsibilities will be sector and team management, client relationship management, management of finance and procurement relationships, pitching, and delivering business plan initiatives and driving profitable revenue growth.

You will be degree educated, with post-graduate legal and/or marketing qualifications and have 10 years' marketing and business development experience or financial management of client relationships and experience of working in the professional services sector in an international business environment that requires buy-in and engagement of senior management or partners and working across cultures successfully. You must have experience of working with multi-locational teams, e.g. multi-office initiatives and leveraging centralised resources and have experience working in or in relation to global Financial Institutions.

You will possess excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to listen clarify and share information easily and be an expert in commercial management of complex multi-million pound client relationships (pricing, procurement, financial relationship management). You will have the ability to build strong working relationships and to be able to persuade and influence a range of people, including partners, and be able to lead a team in a high pressure environment with a focus on results. You will be decisive and mature in judgment and able to resolve complex problems taking a proactive approach to analyse the issues and generate solutions. You will have excellent leadership skills and able to inspire confidence.
