Interim Category and Shopper Manager

The role

One of the largest EMEA FMCG food businesses is looking for a category manager to help develop their shopper strategy within a specific channel. You will be reporting up to the Head of Category and will be working in a larger team that has a number of supporting functions.

The role will be both strategic and tactical in nature where you will be executing a 3-year category growth plan to drive market share across one of the major grocery multiples. You will be using a range of data and insight to help make decisions on range, distribution, placement etc. to help create an increased consumption for the products.

There will be a number of key stakeholder relationships internally and externally and you will provide input in the overall marketing and sales strategy. You will provide key insight and industry data to the client and be able to advise them on providing the best in store range and promotions to help meet ambitious sales targets.

This would be an ideal role for someone who wants to take the step up from a category executive position. This would also suit someone who may want to move sectors away from where they are working to a large prestigious FMCG brand.

This role is also instrumental in the long term brand development of the product and creating brand equity at store level to help drive shopper behaviour. You will provide long term insight that will create value to both the client and the organisation.

The organisation

This organisation is one of the largest FMCG food and drink organisations in the EMEA region, they have gone through a huge amount of change. Over the next few years they are looking to consolidate their position and be a brand leader in a number of areas.

The person

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills:

  • Strong category management experience working within a large consumer brand
  • Experience of managing a shopper marketing strategy
  • Strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of dealing with a range of insight and analytical sources including Neilson and Kantar
  • A strong understanding of general marketing principles
  • Proven experience of developing and implementing a successful 3-year category marketing strategy.
